All of the woodturning innovation of the Ci1 Easy Rougher in a smaller more nimble package, perfect for mini lathes. Ci2 angle Ci2 carbide cutterThe Ci2 utilizes the same carbide cutter technology that makes the original Easy Rougher reduce strain and fatigue, improve productivity, and virtually eliminate sharpening. The Ci2 measures 3/8 of an inch across and 7 inches from tip to tang. It comes handled with our 16" yellow dyed Easy Grip Handle.

If you're new to woodturning, and looking for a tool to diminish the intimidating learning curve, the Ci2 is the tool for you. Like it's big brother, the Ci2 is designed to be kept flat on the tool rest and level to the floor. There are no complicated approach angles, or bevels to ride. The carbide cutter is exposed on three sides allowing the Ci2 to cut right, left, and plunge straight in all while standing in the same spot.

The Ci2 Easy Rougher Mini is designed to make the immense physical forces created by a wood lathe work in your favor as opposed to working against you. The support directly under the cutting edge completely eliminates rotational forces, and the neutral cutting angle directs all the impact force from interrupted cuts into the tool rest instead of into your arms and body. This same neutral cutting angle also makes the Ci2 an incredibly safe tool by almost fully eliminating dangerous stalls and catches. Even if you do get a catch, the angle does not "suck in" to the work piece, both saving your work and limbs.

The Ci2 is capable of producing finishing quality cuts, but is intended to be a roughing tool. It's designed to remove large amounts of wood, safely and in a hurry, without having to stop and sharpen. By producing a truer profile cut with the Ci2, you're able to make better finishing cuts with your traditional high speed steel tools.
