Old Growth Brazilian Rosewood

Our supply comes from the 195o's. There  were a couple Foreign and Domestic Veneer plants operating in Louisville, KY and Edinburg, IN. during the 50's and 60's.
What we have are side cuttings from logs that were being readied for slicing into veneer.
Logs were soaked in open concrete  pens so that when sliced the resulting veneer would shrink down. Spinning was just being introduced which increased yield per log resulting in thinner veneer.

The rich, even color of Brazilian Rosewood can range from dark brown, brick red, orange, and even black. Rare on the World Market, this hardwood cannot be shipped outside of the USA.

Brazilian Rosewood is the coveted hardwood by which all other tone woods in the World are compared to. It is known for its sweet, fragrant aroma and incredible acoustical qualities. Brazilian Rosewood can oxidize over time an loose its smell.
